Here are some quick updates: I had a birthday party for Amanda (her first one;-/) I know, how could that be, but when your birthday is in December, I think you get the short end of the stick. Anyway, it was last Wednesday, and I am glad she had fun and finally had the experience of a birthday party!!
Another update is that we helped plan our ward Christmas party and it was on the 13th. I am SO happy it is over and done with. No more waking up in the middle of the night with racing thoughts of "did we cover everything?". I slept like a baby Saturday night;-)
I think that is it, so enjoy the picture of Amanda's birthday party!

The girls started out making their own crowns

Then they made necklaces and ate tea sandwiches with "tea" chocolate milk

My disaster with the cake. So I kept going back and forth with the thought, should I make it or just buy one. While I was trying to decide over a couple of days, I had put the cake part in the freezer. Anyway, I decided to make it, but waited too long to pull it out of the freezer ( who would've thought that it would take more than three hours to defrost) Anyway, when I was done frosting the half frozen cake, I couldn't get the barbie in (another thing, you are suppose to buy a barbie that has a peg for a body, not a full figured one, I was too lazy to go to a special store and get one) SOOO I got a knife and tried to make a hole for the full figured barbie to fit in. I thought it had worked, but as the girls were making their necklaces, I see movement in the corner of my eye and it was the barbie cake cracking. The girls and I were laughing SO hard
Then I got a kabob stick and skewered her back together;-)

They still ate it and that's all that matters!

Fun party! I'm sure the cake tasted fine - who cares what it looks like.
Wendy--you rock!!! Emma had so much fun! Seeing the cake with the skewer in it totally made me laugh out loud! Does it figure!!! The cake still looks amazing and I am sure if you made it, it was so delicious!!!
Hey and thanks again for an awesome Ward Party! It's the best one I have ever been to! You did a great job! Now you can rest easy!
How fun! I love how you put the Barbie cake back together! So funny! What a fun party! You are such a great Mom Wendy!
I love when we think on the quick to fix a little problem like that. LOL
Looks like a lot of fun.
I know with Sariah's birthday being in December we decided to make it easier on us by doing half birthday parties in June. It certainly helped me in not stressing as much with the holiday season or worrying that friends would be too busy to go to a birthday party.
Happy Birthday Amanda! We love and miss you!
I love that you could laugh when your cake cracked. I'm afraid I wouldn't have reacted so graciously.
Okay so the back side of the barbie looks like she has a great big cake booty. Thanks for the fun update.
Thanks for the chuckle! Amanda will for sure remember the barbie cake incident for years! Everytime she thinks about it, she will remember what a fun time she had! Way to go!
Looks like a fun party! All the princesses are so beautiful -- especially Amanda! I think the cake looked really pretty, even with the crack. :)
